
Oluchi “Tobex” Tobe-Chukwu is a highly respected Nigerian sports media professional, football administrator, and women’s football advocate.
Popularly known as Tobex, she is the Chief Football Writer & Executive Director of TobexMediaServices, a platform committed to quality football journalism, strategic sports communication, and media services.
A former footballer herself, Oluchi’s passion for the game began in her secondary school days, where she served as Games Prefect and School Captain of Surulere Secondary School, Bode Thomas, Lagos
She is the immediate past vice chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos Chapter, and a Fellow of SWAN, reflecting her long-standing contribution to sports journalism in Nigeria.
Oluchi holds the distinction of being the longest-serving Media Manager of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, where she played a crucial role in projecting the most successful women’s national team in Africa globally. She was top-notch as the Super Falcons Spokesperson covering major tournaments and matches in the United States, Canada, Turkey, Mexico, Japan, Austria, the Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, the FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, South Africa and other matches across the globe.
She handled the role with a high level of professionalism and dedication until after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Her work has played a significant role in shaping the global media image of Nigeria’s Women’s national team.
A strong advocate for women’s football, she served for eight years as a member of the Media Committee of the Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) under the leadership of Ms Aisha Falode, contributing to the growth and visibility of the domestic women’s league.
Academically, Oluchi was a federal government scholar. She excelled as the second-best graduating student in her Mass Communication department. She further obtained a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies, with emphasis on Public Relations and Advertising, strengthening her expertise in sports communication and media strategy.
Beyond journalism, she is a licensed Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Match Commissioner and currently serves as a Confederation of African Football (CAF) Venue Media Officer for inter-club competitions across the continent.
She also holds the position of Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Ex-International and Professional Women’s Football Association.
She is currently the Chief of Staff to Ms Aisha Falode, an executive board member of the Nigerian Football Federation and a member of the FIFA Media and Communications Committee.
Oluchi is also a Certified Security Specialist (CSS), a step fueled by safety concerns of fans and security in football stadiums. She has attended FIFA workshops in New Zealand, CAF Seminars in Cairo (Egypt), Rabat, and Casablanca in Morocco.
Oluchi Tobe-Chukwu is happily married and blessed with two sons, balancing family life with an outstanding career dedicated to football, media excellence, and the advancement of Women’s sports in Nigeria and Africa.
